Do you do Halloween on your house?

As Halloween approaches and the leaves are peeking with colors so vibrant many people like to dress up not only themselves but their homes as well here in the Pascack Valley of New Jersey…

So armed with my new camera I am off to explore some of the more outlandish displays I found this week in my travels.

Here are some random samples of what some people have done here this year..

This home every year does a cool job of decorating their home complete with sound effects and scary light shows at night.. If you drive by at night there are motion detectors set up to flash lights and trigger sounds off as you walk by. Ingeniously scaring the life out of you. Bet the neighbors love them….lol

Some people like to greet their Trick or Treaters with a scary porch scene such as these folks…..

On closer inspection you can see they have put in some scary elements as well…

This home seems a little confused me thinks… Is it Halloween or is it Christmas? …. hmmm

Others prefer a more traditional approach without all the bells and whistles as in this beautiful home….

On my way home from a walk the other day I spotted this home down the street from me that every year also has a very detailed set up on their front yard…

And…..

Last but not least, a few years back close friends of mine used to do up their old farm house with pyrotechnics and all sorts of special effects.. So much that the NYC new stations caught wind of it as cars were creating traffic jams in front of the homes. Here are a couple of reports from NBC in New York City one year and another from CBS news the following year……
